Erie Gives Day

What is Erie Gives?

Erie Gives began in 2011 in honor of The Erie Community Foundation’s 75th Anniversary. Erie Gives 2017 will take place on August 8, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

During this 12-hour period of online giving, The Erie Community Foundation will match a percentage of each donation you make to your favorite nonprofit(s) when you donate through this website.

Why donate to CATV on Erie Gives Day?

All of the donations to Community Access Television (CATV) on Erie Gives Day will go towards purchasing new Black Magic HD Studio Cameras. By upgrading our cameras, we will be able to record full high definition video, greatly improving our coverage of local community events like the Blues & Jazz Festival, Celebrate Erie, and Knockout Homelessness. These cameras will also be used by our member volunteers to create programs for local churches, non-profit organizations, and to promote the vitality of the Erie community through video production.

Programs and Services

Not enough time? Not enough people?

Community Access Television is authorized by the City of Erie to administer the public access Channel 1021 on Spectrum, formerly Time Warner Cable. The first two words in our name say it all. We are here to provide our community access to mass media and video production. CATV gives people and organizations the tools of media production, training, equipment, and the channel so that they can get their unique messages across to their intended audiences.

CATV works with many nonprofit organizations to promote their missions including: Community of Caring, the Bair Foundation, Erie Arts & Culture, Erie City Mission, International Institute of Erie, L’Arche Erie, Mental Health Association of NWPA, and the Young Erie Professionals. CATV also documents and broadcasts several local events each year including the Blues & Jazz Festival, Celebrate Erie, and Knockout Homelessness.

CATV Services and Facilities: training and workshops, video production equipment, production studio and control room, HD and SD editing suites, HD and SD field cameras and light kits, mobile production truck, and low-cost video production services.
